Electrical Waste
In addition to clearances Norfolk House Clearance Company offers collections of most Hazardous Waste including Fridges and CRT's also any WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). The WEEE regulations require that all equipment with a battery or a plug to be disposed of separately from your general waste. This is to maximize the recycling of potentially harmful items which have previously been disposed of by landfill.
There is a requirement for every site producing Hazardous Waste (>500kg per annum) to register with the Environment Agency as a site of production and to pay an annual registration charge. It is important that any site that registers annually with the introduction of these regulations.
As part of our service we provide correctly completed consignment notes for the Environment Agency assuring no fines or penalties. Registering your site is primarily your responsibility, but being one of our customers we will remind you near the time of renewal. It is extremely important as a site that if it is not registered, collections of Hazardous Waste will not be possible as they would be in breach of new legislation.
Registering your site can be done via ourselves at no additional cost.
